Issue 26: June 2013

There’s no better way to celebrate Father’s Day than to interview one of the funniest fathers on the planet - John Cleese. Currently on show with
John Cleese Live, YEI had the privilege of chatting to the Titan of Comedy prior to his tour of SA. And if one wasn’t enough, YEI then had the pleasure of interviewing South Africa’s Funny Man, Tim Plewman, about his latest book Fitness for Old Farts.

Ndumu River Lodge recently ran a competition on the YEI website for a 4-night stay. We were SO chuffed when Ndumu decided to offer three prizes, not just one. We, therefore, have three delighted YEI winners! If you entered this competition, you can still be a winner, as Ndumu are offering a 35% discount throughout the year! Click here to read more. A big thanks to Mark Kotze, GM of Ndumu!

We welcome Southern Sun Resorts on board, who have an incredible offer and real treat for the over-63s.

A snippet of what is on offer this month – Nedbank looks at investment choices. Personal Trust looks at how suggested reform measures could affect the use of Trusts as tax and Estate planning vehicles. In light of the recent sad and sudden death of Vuyo Mbuli, YEI investigated the prevention of pulmonary embolism with a Vascular Surgeon. We look at the emotional impact of retirement (an excellent read), a tribute to a remarkable granny, some good advice for expats working in South Africa and the return of the Retirement Expo.

The Finance experts have responded to some interesting questions during the last month. Click here if you have a financial query that you would like answered (at no cost!), and to read the response to YEI members’ queries.

YEI is all about savings and great offers. With that in focus, Kirsty has come up with many more great finds. Here’s a taste of what’s on offer:
